Texas Freedom Caucus Unveils Legislative Priorities

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The newly formed Texas Freedom Caucus of the Texas House held a press conference today and laid out their priorities for the 85th session.  Speaking to a room full of grassroots supporters, Representative Matt Schaefer, Chairman, talked about the mission of the Caucus and its focus.

With a goal to amplify the voice of liberty-minded, grassroots Texans, the Caucus will fight to protect life, strengthen families, defend the U.S. and Texas Bills of Rights, restrain government and revitalize freedoms, both personal and economic.  All issues that the Texas grassroots have long advocated for.

Through communication with the grassroots, the members will work directly with the grassroots and work directly to coordinate legislative efforts.  Caucus members will work with like-minded members of the Texas Senate to pass legislation that will champion grassroots concerns.

Several members of the Caucus took the mic and laid out different issues that will be the focus of the 85th session.  Reps. Jeff Leach, Matt Krause, Jonathan Stickland, Mike Lang, Matt Shaheen and Matt Rinaldi each addressed issues found in the RPT platform that the caucus will be working to advance.
